HKNA · HK Nunchaku

Hong Kong Nunchaku Association (HKNA), established on August 25, 2016, is dedicated to the professional promotion and dissemination of nunchaku sports and culture in Hong Kong. Our organisation aims to expand the art and culture of HK Nunchaku on an international scale through daily nunchaku events such as educating, performing and promoting locally, and receiving interviews from TV channels and medias.

HKNA’s precedent, Future HK Nunchakus Art Association, was the first official nunchaku organisation in Asia, founded on the 3rd of February, 2009 by the world-leading icon of nunchaku — Jerry Lau.

To date, HKNA had taken part in or organised over 1000 nunchaku-related events; performed in over 200 shows; taught over 150 schools and 50 community centres; interviewed over 100 times by nearly all major local medias, been on over 200 TV shows and events; collaborated with over 50 local and international brands.

After more than 17 years of our hard work. The knowledge of nunchaku evolved from a dangerous weapon, often prohibited and avoided by society due to the lack of social understanding, exploitation, and development, to a multi-directional art, culture, and sport recognised by our HKSAR Government and invited in performances or collaborations; with multiple HKSAR officials who have held or even owned nunchaku — the once prohibited weapon.

Nunchaku is now widely recognised in Hong Kong not just as a signature of Bruce Lee, but a unique world-known cultural symbol of Hong Kong.

Moreover, as the leading icon of the global nunchaku industry in development and influence, HKNA has accomplished countless achievements once thought impossible. Moving forward, our ultimate mission is to guide nunchaku toward a brighter and grander future.
